Position: Director of Human Resources
Term: Full-Time/12 Month (Anticipated start date - July 1, 2016)

Qualifications: Education
- Bachelor's degree in job-related area, required;
- Master's degree in job-related area, preferred;
- SPHR, SHRM-SCP, or equivalent certification, preferred.
Experience
- 5-7 years of job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility, required;
- Experience in overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of human resources for a medium to large employer, preferred;
- Experience managing direct reports, required;
- Experience in union environment and labor negotiations, preferred;
- Experience in the administration of a self-insured health plan, preferred;
- Experience in educational leadership, preferred;
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Administration may find appropriate and acceptable.
This position has potential to be hired as an Assistant Superintendent for qualified certificated education professionals and include supervision of operations departments.

Reports to: Superintendent
The Director of Human Resources designs and delivers initiatives supporting the District's strategic plan in the areas of talent recruitment and selection, workforce planning, development and succession planning, workforce engagement and satisfaction, labor relations, and benefits and compensation.

Essential Functions:
- Facilitates the design, implementation, and delivery of the District’s talent management strategy (e.g. recruitment, selection, onboarding, evaluation, succession planning, etc.).
- Serves on negotiating team in the collective bargaining process for the purpose of directing the District's position on the negotiation and administration of labor agreements.
- Researches area compensation and benefit practices for the purpose of attracting and retaining a highly qualified workforce.
- Ensures the effective delivery of services and the implementation of new programs and/or processes for the purpose of providing services within established timeframes and in compliance with related requirements.
- Facilitates professional development opportunities for leaders and other staff members to support expanding the capacity of employees at varying levels.
- Oversees administration of the District's self-insured Health Plan, and voluntary benefit offerings for employees.
- Serves as the District's compliance officer for the purpose of resolving complaints and mitigating issues with regard to Title VII, Title IX, HIPAA, and EEO regulations/laws.
- Ensures compliance related to human resource functions for the purpose of producing accurate and objective data that demonstrate compliance to district, state, and federal regulations.
- Directs the administration of the District's Safety and Workers' Compensation program.
- Communicates regularly with internal and external stakeholders and responds to written and verbal inquires regarding policies, regulations, concerns, etc.
- Serves on the District's policy committee for the purpose of reviewing and recommending policy language to the Board of Education for adoption.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
