Qualifications:
- Educational Specialist degree or higher in Educational Administration or Educational Leadership (Doctorate preferred)
- Valid Missouri administrator certificate, required
- Minimum of 5 years of head principal experience
- Experience as a successful head principal with demonstrated expertise in professional learning communities, school improvement planning, and instructional leadership.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations for Title programs.
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage projects, and implement innovative practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Job Summary: The Learning Services Director leads the development, implementation, and evaluation of district-wide curriculum aligned with state standards, ensuring it meets the diverse needs of all students. This role collaborates with principals, curriculum coordinators, and staff to drive data-informed decision-making through effective Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), oversees district assessments, and evaluates the performance of curriculum and assessment coordinators. The director also co-evaluates principals and manages federal Title programs, ensuring compliance with ESSA and federal mandates, and supports the Section 504 plan implementation.
Essential Functions:
Curriculum, Instruction, and Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)
- Support the development and implementation of district-wide curriculum aligned to state standards, ensuring it meets the needs of all students.
- Stay informed about emerging trends in curriculum, instruction, and technology to enhance teaching and learning.
- Collaborate with grade level/department heads, curriculum coordinators, and principals to ensure effective implementation of district goals and the selection of instructional resources.
- Lead and support professional development for PLCs, ensuring they collaborate effectively, use data to guide instructional planning, and align strategies across schools.
- Oversee the development and use of district-wide assessments, ensuring they support PLC teams in making data-driven decisions to improve student outcomes.
- Evaluate the performance of curriculum coordinators and the assessment coordinator to ensure alignment with district goals and effective program implementation.
- Co-evaluate principals in partnership with the Assistant Superintendent of Learning Services.
Federal Title Programs and Section 504 Compliance
- Support the development and evaluation of the district’s Title I plan, ensuring compliance with ESSA and other federal mandates, and act as the liaison between the district and federal/state agencies for program requirements and reporting.
- Collaborate with the Assistant Superintendent of Learning Services and the Assistant Superintendent of Finance to oversee the budget management for Title programs and ensure alignment with community needs.
- Work with the Section 504 Coordinator and building administrators to ensure the effective implementation and compliance of Section 504 plans across the district.
- Evaluate the Section 504 Coordinator to ensure effective leadership, compliance, and alignment with district goals.
School Improvement, Innovation, and Community Engagement
- Collaborate on the creation and implementation of the District Comprehensive School Improvement Plan (CSIP), monitor Building School Improvement Plans (BSIPs), and support the development of long-term strategies for curriculum, assessment, and professional development aligned with district goals.
- Ensure equitable access to high-quality curriculum and instruction for all students, focusing on closing achievement gaps, fostering innovative practices like project-based and real-world learning and STEM/STEAM, and aligning student supports with the core curriculum to support overall well-being and development.
- Support the district's gifted education program, ensuring compliance and alignment with district goals.
- Foster partnerships with community stakeholders, parents, and staff to gather input, represent the district in community engagements, and collaborate on initiatives addressing student needs.
